“The best place to live in the world” – Mallorca
Sea and Mountain united by an offer of leisure, culture and heritage.
This beautiful island has many attractions for visitors and residents, in 2015, was chosen “the best place to live in the world” by the newspaper ‘The Times’ of London.
Its capital, Palma offers places you should not miss, it is necessary to walk on Paseo del Borne, located in the center and known as the “golden mile”; the distinguished Avenida Jaime III (large shopping area in the center); the old historic quarter; or the famous and tourist district of La Lonja; the bohemian and modern neighborhood of Santa Catalina; the Promenade; the fishing district of Portixol and its Playa de Palma, recently also known as Palma Beach; without forgetting, the exclusive golf course of Son Vida. Of course it is a must to visit the magnificent Palma de Mallorca’s Cathedral, located in the center of the city and dating from the fourteenth century, better known as La Seu, and being the most emblematic building of the Mallorcan capital and one of the highest Gothic structures in Europe. It is perched on the Parc de la Mar and offers a fantastic view to those people who arrive by sea. In front of the Cathedral we find the Royal Palace of the Almudaina, a mixture of Gothic and Mudejar styles. It is used for official events of the Spanish royal family when visiting the island. Although the usual residence of the Royal family is the Palace of Marivent, located on the sea and very close to the Hotel Hospes Maricel & Spa, between both palaces there are two beautiful coves, Cala Fornaris or Cala Guix located next to the Marina. few kilometers from Mallorca.
Palma also offers a host of restaurants, bars, luxury shops, terraces, museums, art galleries, in short, a complete entertainment offer and easy access.
A few kilometers away we find the Mountain, we can enjoy the Sierra de la Tramontana, converted into a World Heritage Site by UNESCO with a wonderful landscape of contrasts, with stone villages and coves of turquoise blue water. Puig Major, is the highest summit of the Tramontana, with 1447m. This mountain range gives name to one of the regions of Majorca, with capital in Sóller, and in it are located towns and landscapes as spectacular as Deià, Fornalutx, Valldemossa, Esporles, Pollença, Na Foradada, Formentor, the Mirador de Sa Creueta, the Torrent de Pareis … You can make routes on foot or by bicycle, and enjoy the native species of the area, photograph beautiful landscapes or make a surprising route through its villages and viewpoints.
Undoubtedly, the magical island of Mallorca is able to offer all natural attractions in very little space. Towns full of history, a rich and varied vegetation, a unique Mediterranean cuisine, high mountains that look out to the sea with beaches and coves of crystal clear water and turquoise.
