Within Cultural and Historical Tourism, a visit to Cáceres is a must, as its medieval siteis one of the best preserved in Europe. It also offers a very interesting historical variant, as in these lands you may still feel the vestiges of Jewish culture. An obligatory visit is Hervás,  its aljama throughout the Middle Ages, fundamental in the development of Castile. Additionally, the link of this land with Isabella the Catholic is very strong, since the most important historical events took place here, such as the war of succession against Juana “la Beltraneja”, the Jura of the city’s charter and the stage of the Discovery of America.

Queso bajaAs a final touch, we must dedicate a special mention to its wines, oil and cheese:

A brief tour to get to know the wines of a region that produces a wide variety of them, some of which currently enjoy national and international prestige. Extremadura’s wines are true masterpieces. In recent years, wineries such as Carabal, Pago Los Balancines, Pago de las Encomiendas, Santa Marina, Marcelino Díaz and Cñía have been crowned. Vinícola del Guadiana, Valdueza or Toribio.

Extremadura’s olive oil, virgin or extra virgin, is extraordinary. The region produces oils of the highest quality and is the third largest producer in Spain. Among the most widespread varieties of olives we have the “manzanilla cacereña” and “corniche” in Cáceres and the “morisca”, “corrasqueña” and “verdial” in Badajoz.
