Hospes closes an agreement with Colivinghotels to enter the first long-stay hotel platform in Spain

The Hospes Hotels Chain, has signed an agreement with the Spanish startup Colivinghotels to join the new modality of seasonal hotel accommodation with five of its establishments located in Alicante, Seville, Cáceres, Granada and Valencia. Offered as an easy, economical and attractive alternative to residents and new types of travelers.

Coliving Hotels is the project created by six Spanish entrepreneurs, who offer the option of opening the doors to a new accommodation model.  The project offers a solution to the traveler who demands long stays, either for work or for personal reasons, but who seeks quality in the product.

This initiative has been selected by the World Tourism Organization and is now preparing to compete for the first three positions.

Hospitality and tourism industry has undergone important changes in its uses after the COVID-19 pandemic and, for this reason, new business opportunities have arisen responding to the requests of travelers who want to enjoy hotels and tourist accommodation for work or seasonal residence.

In this sense, Hospes has a lot to contribute, since it offers exclusive stays in historic and emblematic buildings, capable of offering this new profile of traveler the comfort, service and all the necessary technology to live and work for long periods of time. Thanks to this initiative, it is now possible to reside in a Boutique Hotel, enjoy its services and its surroundings.

To facilitate the process and reach this new traveler, Hospes has partnered with Coliving Hotels, since this is the first platform dedicated to establishments who offer the option of a season long stay in hotels, thus promoting its hybrid use. In addition, Hospes offers other benefits and discounts in the use of the services of the Hotels.

This profile of traveler exists even before the lockdown. This new type of traveler, also called digital nomads, have new needs which were not covered. Necertheless, the terms coliving, workations or staycations are becomming increasingly familiar words in the hospitality industry. According to the founder of NomadList, the world’s leading destination platform for digital nomads, by 2035 there will be 1 billion such new resident / traveler.

The creators of Coliving Hotels, Joaquín Romero, Ana Poley, Fernando Abad, Mario Zamorano and Javier Romero are professionals related to hotel management, international tourism, technology, startups and the real estate sector respectively. They decided to present their project to the “Hospitality Challenge organized by the World Tourism Organization, positioning itself among the 30 best initiatives of a selection of more than 600 worldwide and currently waiting to be eligible for the TOP 3. It was these recognitions that motivated the team to give life to the project deciding then to put this business idea into practice.

Hospes Hotels wants to contribute in the achievement of this objectives by participating in this new project with its establishments.

This project seeks to satisfy the needs of people who consider living a season in a hotel as a standardized accommodation formula.
