Madrid | The best plans in Barrio de Salamanca
Salamanca is the trendy neighborhood of Madrid, where you will find the most exclusive shops, must-visit tourist areas and the most exclusive gastronomy. Our hotel Hospes Puerta de Alcalá is located in a privileged place with exclusive views of the well-known Puerta de Alcalá and the fantastic Retiro Park, a walking distance from Gran Vía and above the Paseo de la Castellana.
Here are some plans to explore the Salamanca neighborhood, taking full advantage of its beauty, its local cuisine and well-being within everyone’s reach.
El Retiro – Afternoon snacks
Considered one of the first tourist attractions in Madrid, the Retiro Park has a perimeter of more than 4.5km where you can find, in addition to a lot of nature, several fountains, gardens, a palace and a pond, where it is even possible to take a boat ride. It is an oasis within the capital where you can escape and forget the bustling center of Madrid for a few hours.
After a long walk visiting the most emblematic corners of the park, nothing better than a special snack overlooking it and the Puerta de Alcalá on our Malvar terrace. From modern milkshakes to the most traditional and so Madrid, chocolates with churros to fight the cold of the capital in winter.
Triangle of Art in Madrid
One of the most unique characteristics of Madrid is its cultural offer distributed among the best museums, galleries, theaters, etc. A few meters from the hotel we have the “art triangle” of the city, where we find the three museums located on the Paseo del Prado: Prado Museum, Reina Sofía Museum and Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum.
Visit one of the most important museums in the world like El Prado and contrast the paintings of European masters from the 16th to the 19th centuries with a gallery of contemporary paintings such as those of the Reina Sofía Museum.
As a brooch to the cultural visit we propose a visit to our spa and wellness center, giving you a massage or treatment to revitalize body and soul. Feel the caress Bodyna.
Serrano Street
It is the street with more luxury stores in Madrid: Montblanc, YSL, Gucci, Cartier, Versace, Loewe … And the list goes on. It is considered one of the most expensive and exclusive streets of the capital. And they are not only shops, it also has tourist sites of great interest such as the Plaza de Colón, the National Archaeological Museum or the Church of San Francisco de Borja.
To disconnect after a walk or a day of shopping in Serrano, from Hospes we recommend our Bodyna Spa, where you can enjoy and relax in our pool, sauna and Hammam.
Cibeles Square – Tasting Menu
Another tourist point of Madrid of great beauty and interest is the Plaza and Fuente de Cibeles. The square is also surrounded by such impressive and representative buildings as the Palace of Communications and Buenavista. Also a few meters from the hotel you can enjoy all these monumental buildings.
And we could not finish the plans in the Salamanca neighborhood without the much appreciated and valued Spanish cuisine. At Hospes Puerta de Alcalá, you can enjoy a tasting menu with five dishes specially selected and prepared by our Chef, Ignacio Torregimeno, mixing traditional flavors with the most modern and palatable fusions.
All these plans and more is what you can find in the most cosmopolitan neighborhood of Madrid.
