Renovation and new decoration of the Hospes Palacio de Arenales Hotel in Cáceres, carried out by the Architecture Requena and Plaza

The Hotel Hospes Palacio de Arenales & Spa closes its doors until spring to undertake an improvement and extension of its facilities, including the redecoration of this fantastic historic building.

The redecoration project is performed by the prestigious architecture and interior design studio Requena y Plaza. The studio was born in 1987 by the hand of Juan Luis Requena and Jose Francisco Plaza. The team now comprises around 60 employees, both nationally and internationally ubicated, and has effectuated more than 700 projects of different kinds. Hotels, restaurants, work areas and offices, residences and retail amongst other unique spaces are projects the studio has accomplished. Hospes Hotels, Marriot, NH, Sercotel or Room 007 are some of Requena and Plaza’s prestigious hotel clients.  

The style and meaning of the proposal of Requena and Plaza is based on the past references of the building as the thread of the whole project. Thus, the typology of cortijo, which is part of the traditional landscape and has a very strong cultural anchorage, serves as the main driver of the project. In particular, the large building, which in past times housed a farm, and the central nucleus of the very noble dwelling unite a double function, a duality of character, rural and noble, which is the key to the entire project.

Naturally, the decision was made to leave the entire building as bare as possible, in order to give prominence to its own characteristic elements in all the spaces.

The tradition and culture of Caceres is also present y many other chosen pieces for decoration.

In addition to the reform of the facilities and interior decoration, the Hotel will be equipped with new and outstanding outdoor installations for social events and celebrations, such as a new infinity pool with its pool bar, which will enhance the natural beauty of the environment. These novelties complete the offer of the Bodyna Spa, equipped with a hydrothermal circuit of the latest technology.

The Hotel, owned by Inversiones Tirema, is managed by the prestigious Hospes chain, which has nine luxury boutique hotels in Spain.

The Hotel Hospes Palacio de Arenales is one of the two five-star hotels ubicated in the city of Cáceres. The Palace, dating from the 17th century, belonged to the Golfín Family, as shown by the solid coats of arms sculpted in granite, Family who also owned the Palacio de los Golfines de Abajo. With an excellent communication with the La Plata motorway, it is located in a large estate with olive groves and wide natural spaces, only 3 km away from the centre of Cáceres.
