Aromas, colors and sensations…
This is Seville, a city with “Alma” (soul), is one of those places that when you remember them bring you vibrant sensations and moments that activate the senses again.
There is a world-known Seville, whether it has been visited or not;
The Real Alcázar of Seville, a real Arab-style palace with gardens full of fountains, decorated arches and tiles from the 16th Century.
The Plaza de España, historic square with ceramic mosaics, with a decorative fountain, benches with painted ceramic mosaics and ornate porches.
The Cathedral of Seville, in Gothic style. Unesco declared it in 1987, together with the Real Alcázar and the Archive of the Indies, a World Heritage Site and, on July 25, 2010, a Well of Outstanding Universal Value
The Tower of the Gold (Torre del Olor), defensive Tower of century XIII, constructed around 1220, whose name responds to diverse theories.
The María Luisa park is the first urban park in Seville and one of its green lungs. In 1983 it was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest in the Historic Garden category. It was inaugurated on April 18, 1914 as an urban park Infanta María Luisa Fernanda.
The Metropol Parasol also officially named since its opening as Setas de Sevilla is a structure in the shape of a pergola made of wood and concrete located in the central Plaza de la Encarnación. It has dimensions of 150 meters long, 70 meters wide and an approximate height of 26 meters. Its base houses a traditional market and local restaurants on the ground floor, a performance hall and the Antiquarium archaeological museum. The structure is crowned with a terrace and a viewpoint that offers a panoramic view of the old town.
The neighborhood of Santa Cruz, the tourist area par excellence of the city, houses the Gothic cathedral of Seville, from whose Giralda you can enjoy panoramic views, and the Real Alcázar, a palace of Mudejar-Renaissance style surrounded by lush gardens. Tapas and Iberian ham are served in the tapas bars of the nearby Mateos Gago street. In the narrow streets of the Jewish quarter and in the squares full of orange trees there are many souvenir shops, crafts and ceramics.
The Bullring of the Maestranza is located in the Arenal neighborhood of Seville, Andalusia, Spain. It was built in the 18th century. It is owned by the Real Maestranza de Caballería de Sevilla.
Casa de Pilatos, Archivo de Indias, Isla Mágica, Museum of Fine Arts and a host of historical and artistic collections that are worth knowing.
But what really makes Seville a magical place, is the context where they have been located, with its aroma of Azahar, with its river Guadalquivir that has been the protagonist in many moments of the history of the city, with sieges, defenses and conquests that have been litigated between its waters, and also feats and journeys have been forged from its shores, with the tradition and culture of its people, who live intensely the most natural moments, the taking a “Caña con un Tapa”, enjoy a rebujito or stroll down Calle de la Sierpe visiting its multitude of shops that mix art, past and above all much Andalusian flavor.
But undoubtedly the wrapping of all these qualities is given by the cheerful and extroverted character of the Sevillians who welcome visitors by offering them pieces of their culture, sharing the special light that this fantastic Andalusian city has.
